Our current appointment system includes acute on the day appointments, online early morning appointments, as well as pre-bookable routine appointments. To book please call 01254 260051

  • To book a same day appointment please call the surgery between 8am and 11am and we will try our best to provide an appointment the same day.
  • We also have pre-bookable appointments available throughout the week. Call the surgery between 8am and 6.30pm with an ongoing issue and we will make you an appointment later that week.
  • Early morning appointments are available to be booked on the My GP app on your smartphone or tablet.

Appointments with a Nurse

Please telephone the surgery to book your appointment in advance. It is helpful if you tell the receptionist the reason for your appointment, i.e. blood test, asthma check, etc. to ensure that the correct time is allocated for your appointment.

Urgent Calls

After 6.30pm and weekends

Please telephone 111. You will be connected to NHS Direct, who will either give advice, or refer you to a doctor at Primary Care Centre locally.

Additional Appointments

Limefield Surgery is a member of Blackburn with Darwen’s Local Primary Care Federation, which means at times we can share appointments with other surgeries.

The extended access service provides additional appointments at four other local practices which our patients can access should they require a more flexible consultation. Please ask our reception staff if you require further information.

Two for One Appointments

When booking an appointment each patient is given an allocated time. The time is to allow an appropriate consultation length of time for one person. If you want more than one person to be seen by the GP then you must make a separate appointment. Please do not ask the doctor to see an extra patient who does not have an appointment.

It is unfair on other patients who have made their appointments and on the doctor whose surgery then runs late.

Late for Appointments

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

If you are 10 minutes late or more the doctor may not be able to see you – if it is agreed that they will there may then be a wait.
